Diamanti is a bladder clover developed as an improvement on Bartolo, and the comparison with Bartolo is the clearest way to understand it.
It flowers ten to fourteen days earlier, which suits it to shorter seasons or to fitting a legume phase into a tighter rotation. Its seed is harder, making it more resilient to false breaks, where an early germinating rain followed by dry weather would otherwise wipe out a year's seedlings. Its growth habit is upright rather than prostrate, which makes it considerably easier to harvest, an important practical difference for anyone producing their own seed.
