This unique combination of different species of pasture seed provides an excellent mix for achieving a highly productive as well as highly nutritious feed that extends throughout the season, maximising your pasture potential.
MaxiMix is a combination of tetraploid and diploid annual ryegrasses, oats and various aerial seeded clovers which all have great production over a wide range of soil types. The diversity in this mix provides some assurance total production will not be lost if there is an early finish to the spring. The earlier maturing varieties will have supported the production and, where there is a longer growing season, the later maturing varieties will come into their own.

Planting & grazing notes
Optimal sowing time is autumn. Ideally spray out any existing pasture or persistent weeds before planting, and prepare an optimal seed bed, applying lime or gypsum if required. Ensure you have adequate soil moisture with the possibility of follow up rain. When planting for early production, dry seed prior to the break only where paddocks are clean of weeds and competitive grasses and you have assessed the risk of a false break. Once established, ensure plants are not prone to pulling, then graze at approximately 20–25cm high, down to 40–50%, to increase tiller density. Do not over graze. Apply a rotational grazing program through winter and spring. Cut mid spring for silage or late spring for hay.
Disease & pest resistance
Amazon T Annual Ryegrass has excellent rust resistance. Dargo Annual Ryegrass offers high leaf rust tolerance. Finefeed Annual Ryegrass has improved rust resistance.
Stand life
Lock up by grazing through winter and early spring and allow the paddock to run to seed in the first year. This will provide the following years' regeneration and, if managed well, MaxiMix should continue to provide high quality pasture into subsequent years. Regeneration of Paradana Balansa Clover is reduced if cut late for silage or hay.
